Mosquito Health Threat
We’ve all had the unpleasant experience of being bitten by a mosquito. The mosquito’s saliva causes an allergic reaction which is why you get those itchy red bumps. A more serious consequence of mosquito bites is the transmission of serious diseases and viruses such as Malaria, Zika, and West Nile virus. These diseases can lead to disabling and deadly outcomes.
Worldwide, Malaria infects about 250 million people annually, with more than a million cases resulting in death. While mosquitoes are less of a threat here in the United States, some entomologists believe that global warming could lead to a significant increase in diseases carried by mosquitos and other insects.
Mosquitos can detect a host from a far away as 100 feet. They are attracted to the carbon dioxide we exhale, as well as the lactic acid and octanol in our breath and our sweat.
There are nearly 200 different species of mosquitoes in the United States. They prefer to lay their eggs in standing water. Beneficial predators such as dragonfly nymphs and fish feed on the mosquito larvae in permanent ponds, rivers and lakes.
However, marshes, swamps, temporary pools and puddles can create prolific mosquito breeding sites. Even old tires, buckets and toys that trap a small amount of standing water can serve as sites for mosquitos to lay their eggs.
Our 3-Step Mosquito Elimination Process
- We place In2 Care Mosquito Traps in strategic locations of your yard. Watch the video below to see how it works.
- Apply liquid insecticide to shrubs and grassy areas where mosquitoes might seek shelter from the heat. When possible, we provide this treatment during the heat of the day when mosquitoes are resting.
- We apply a mosquito treatment to the bottoms of the plant leaves that mosquitoes feed on.

Our three step process provides excellent mosquito control around your home for several weeks. The adult mosquitoes are killed where they rest and feed and the larvae are killed where they live.
Since mosquitoes fly slowly, rarely travel more than a hundred feet, and only detect a human from up to a hundred feet away, our treatment in and around your home’s landscape can be very effective.
